HISTORY AND HERITAGE

PODS will foster meaningful connections with the shíshálh First Nation,
showcase the archaeological signifi cance of the region, and provide interpretive

resources which refl ect the importance of Pender Harbour to indigenous

cultures. PODS will also feature historical records, stories and artifacts from the
past century, with an emphasis on the extraordinary historical signifi cance of

Irvines Landing.

environmental health and preservation and enhanced biodiversity is aligned
with the shíshálh Nation’s longstanding beliefs of stewardship of our lands,
waters and all plants and animals that share this space.”
