Many students are interested in science and exploring careers in science, but
        - Candace Campo, Business Owner opportunities on the Sunshine Coast are limited. Given the low accessibility of
and member of the shíshálh Nation local STEM training, our investment in youth mentorship has been valued and
appreciated by community school staff and parents. This year alone, we provided
several opportunities for students interested in STEM to join our monitoring
team in the field, to learn about environmental sampling techniques and marine
species identification. We also provided mentoring sessions specifically geared
towards girls interested in science. Finally, members of the Lagoon Society were
invited to Pender Harbour Secondary School to give a presentation on Careers in
Science, ensuring that any students interested were aware of the opportunities
                                             available to them.
